Conferences & Collaborations

Ottawa Tamil Tamil Association jointly with Tamil diaspora organizations regularly host Conferences and summits. The academic conferences and summits offer a venue for Tamil organizations, politicians, activists, and civil society representatives worldwide to explore, research and plan for the Tamil diaspora’s role in advancing justice for Tamil Eelam Tamils.

At the end of the 2nd International Conference on Tamil Nationhood and Genocide in Sri Lanka, held in Ottawa from May 5th -7th, 2018, the organizing committee aims to find a sustainable political solution that addresses the national question of the Eelam Tamils, in their traditional homeland in the North and East of the island called Sri Lanka. International Conference on Tamil Liberation Struggle for Self-determination: 20 Years After the Ceasefire Agreement (2002- 2022) took place virtually on February 18/19, 2022. Ottawa Tamil Association is a member of the Federation of Global Tamil Organizations (FGTO) and FGTO hosts Global Tamil Summit annually. Representatives from Tamil organizations, politicians, activists, and civil society representatives worldwide meet to explore, research and plan for the Tamil diaspora’s role in advancing justice for Eelam Tamils in the summit.
